Kennedy Thanks His Supporters

by: AuMass

Thank You

A personal message from Joe Kennedy:

I want to send a huge THANK YOU out to my supporters and congratulate Senator Brown on his new role in the U.S. Senate. Senator Brown ran a very aggressive campaign and was able to get the support and funds needed to pull a huge upset in Massachusetts. May he represent the people well.

Joe!

Kennedy Takes 22,237 Votes. That's up 68% from our 2008 top-of-ticket Barr/Root Presidential team and their 13,189 votes. Joe's best towns were 4% in Hawley and 3% in Huntington, Ware, Monroe, New Salem, and Rowe.

Brown Launches Attack on First Amendment

by: AuMass

Sat Jan 16, 2010 at 20:58:40 PM EST

In a new outbreak of Republican cluelessness, Republican candidate Scott Brown has claimed -- you can read it on http://RedMassGroup.com --that MGL56.42

Chapter 56: Section 42. False statements relating to candidates or questions submitted to voters

Section 42. No person shall make or publish, or cause to be made or published, any false statement in relation to any candidate for nomination or election to public office, which is designed or tends to aid or to injure or defeat such candidate.

No person shall publish or cause to be published in any letter, circular, advertisement, poster or in any other writing any false statement in relation to any question submitted to the voters, which statement is designed to affect the vote on said question.

Whoever knowingly violates any provision of this section shall be punished by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars or by imprisonment for not more than six months.

is legally enforceable, as opposed to being a Demonstration of the inability of the Great and General Court of the Commonwealth to understand the Federal and State Constitutions, notably the First Amendment (Federal).  He has threatened to file criminal charges against various Democrats for a flier they circulated.

Poll

by: AuMass

Fri Jan 15, 2010 at 15:39:26 PM EST

Mindful that the lp.org Libertarian organization is polling asking if Joe Kennedy should withdraw in favor of Martha Coakley (or several other choices) we offer our own poll:

Howell, Cloud Clearly Endorse Kennedy

by: AuMass

Tue Jan 12, 2010 at 16:59:40 PM EST

In an email blast to their major major mailing list, Carla Howell and Michael Cloud and their Small Government effort blast Scott Brown and remind readers that there is a 100-times-better choice.  Hint: Not Martha Coakley.  Honest.

I found the direct link, so with thanks to RedMassGroup (which, as you can imagine is not real pleased with the message) for reporting

Support Joe Kennedy

by: AuMass

Sun Jan 03, 2010 at 10:25:21 AM EST

Lots of work to do and little time!

1.  We need ALL signs out in visible locations - we still have some at campaign headquarters.

2.  People are needed to hand out brochures outside of North Station, South Station and Downtown Crossing during peak travel times/commuter hours.  North and South Station are hubs -- people commute to suburbs via these hubs so we have potential to spread the word here.  Thinking maybe 3:30 - 5:30pm, must be outside of station due to permit requirements.  Give them some reading material for ride home, and potentially bring material home into their home...

3. Public Policy Polling is considering polling the Massachusetts Senate race and has put up a poll on their website to decide where to poll... MA is in 2nd place right now, only down 7 votes behind Alabama, with one day left to vote.

http://publicpolicypolling.blo...

4.  Keep blogging, writing for equitable coverage, showing support - spread the word!

Call and/or email about brochures and signs -- we NEED to act NOW!!

Please vote for Scott Brown

by: DD4RP

Tue Dec 22, 2009 at 09:20:35 AM EST

I am active in the libertarian wing of the Republican Party.  I voted for Ron Paul, Donated to Rand Paul, am involved in the Campaign for Liberty, The Republican Liberty Caucus and other small government groups.

I have voted for Libertarian candidates for office in the past including Carla Howell and Kamal Jain.  The Libertarian Party is always my party of choice when no Republican is running or the Republican nominee is not viable.  I have not voted Libertarian in any race where the Republican nominee has received 40%+ of the vote.

I believe our best chance for success lies within the Republican Party.  If the type of candidates we support cannot win a Republican primary, they will find it impossible to do so in a general election.  Here in Massachusetts, winning many Republican primaries is not only possible, it's easy.  Because the GOP does not field candidates for most offices, simply gathering the signatures necessary for the ballot is all that is needed.

In the United States Senate race, I believe Scot Brown can win.  I have donated $250 of my own money to help him do do.  Should Martha Coakley win nothing will stand in the way President Obama's big government socialist agenda.  Senator Scott Brown would become the 41st Republican and allow a filibuster to be maintained without Democrat support.  The stakes in this election are much too high to use your vote on another candidate and allow Martha Coakley to win.

Please consider voting for Scott Brown.  Thank you for your time.

Libertarian Joe Kennedy

by: AuMass

Sun Dec 13, 2009 at 09:25:45 AM EST

Quoting Red Mass Group, thoughtful author YankeePundit

The Globe reports that Coakley wants to have three way debates with Scott Brown and Libertarian Joe Kennedy. ...

Clearly her hope is that Kennedy as a Libertarian ...

But I wonder if having the Libertarian Kennedy there ...

Important point:  Joe is actually running on the Liberty Party line, but everyone knows he is a Libertarian, and that is how he is being described.

The press and blog descriptions are far more important than the half-noticed word on the ballot.

Conclusion: The real Libertarian message will go out as Libertarian whenever we get candidates on the ballot, even if the party name on the nominating paper is a bit different.

On the other hand, fighting for the 'Libertarian' word on the ballot gets you almost nothing unless, of course, you are looking to be paid for collecting signatures, and have a candidate who can afford the substantial extra tab, in which case the outcome is instant jackpot.

Finally, referring to critics of Joe's successful approach, reasoning from athletic analogies is seen not to lead to the right answers.

Coakley favors three-way debates

by: AuMass

Fri Dec 11, 2009 at 22:32:10 PM EST

Excerpts from a good, big article. Go read it.

http://www.boston.com/news/loc...

By Matt Viser, Globe Staff

LYNN -- US Senate candidate Martha Coakley suggested today that she would not agree to debates unless long-shot candidate Joseph L. Kennedy is included, a strategy that appears to be an effort to make the contest a three-person affair.

I think it's very important at this stage in the game that everybody on the ballot be involved in these debates,'' she said this afternoon. "The campaigns are in the process of talking about that now, but there are three candidates and everybody who's going to cast a ballot on Jan. 19 should know that.''

...

Having a three-way debate would help Coakley, the front-runner in the race, and would make it harder for Brown to clearly differentiate himself from Coakley.

Joe Makes Ballot

by: AuMass

Sun Dec 06, 2009 at 15:59:29 PM EST

The JoeKennedyForSenate.com web site reports:

Facebook Page: 141067507133 Twitter: joek4Senate YouTube: joeKennedy4Senate

WE EXCEEDED OUR GOAL !!!

Our original goal was 13,500 signatures / 10,200 validated signatures. Not only did we exceed both goals but we BLEW THEM AWAY! Everyone said it couldn't be done without companies in our back pocket, significant funds or as part of one of the 2 main parties (which have companies in their back pocket and significant funds). We are ecstatic to have proved them all wrong. I want to thank everyone for their efforts and urge you more than ever to spread the word. Now that we are done collecting signatures it's on to collecting votes.

Meet Joe Kennedy, Libertarian, Candidate for US Senate

by: AuMass

Sat Nov 28, 2009 at 12:52:08 PM EST

Dues-paying National Libertarian Party Member Joe Kennedy is running for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts. He's running in our  January 19 special election to replace the late Senator Edward Kennedy.  You can count on national media attention.

Take a look at Joe's web site http://JoeKennedyForSenate.com . Read his stands on issues like the war on Iraq, Afghanistan, marijuana, gun control, welfare, or education.  Time after time, you're going to read sensible libertarian ideas presented effectively to a wide audience.

Joe is a real libertarian, running on our sound libertarian ideas.  He's not a far-right-wing conservative with a few phony libertarian rants. He's a solid candidate who will be a credit to our party. That's why the Libertarian Association of Massachusetts endorsed him: He's a real Libertarian.  That's why the Libertarian Association of Massachusetts put $1000 of our treasury into his campaign: He's a real Libertarian.

Joe Kennedy ran a full-bore nominating campaign.  Based on numbers, it's virtually certain Joe has enough signatures to get onto the ballot.
